What type of secretory regulation is represented in the parathyroid gland. PTH (simple Endocrine reflex)
Calcium secretary regulations represent in the parathyroid gland.
Parathyroid gland is atiny ,round structure present in a posterior surface of thyroid gland.
They are four in number.
The epithelial cells produced and secret the parathyroid hormones (PTH).
This hormone involved in the regulation of blood calcium levels.
This gland produce and secret PTH in response to low blood calcium levels.
Mechanism :- 1) PTH secretion stimulate Osteoclasts
2) osteoclasts secret enzyme that degrade bones.
3) degradation of bones release calcium in to intestinal fluid.
What type of secretory regulation is represented in the parathyroid gland. PTH (simple Endocrine reflex)
Thyroid regulation of Cellular Metabolism Describe the microscopic organization and function of the thyroid Compare and contrast the endocrine activity of thyroid hormone The thyroid and parathyroid maintain blood calcium homeostasis Describe the endocrine function of each hormone on bone synthesis and blood calcium levels Parathyroid glands are embedded within the posterior thyroid gland Secretes Parathyroid hormone (Parathormone, PTH). PTH action also induces calcitriol secretion
Parathyroid A. Draw and clearly label a portion of the thyroid gland that contains parathyroid tissue. In your sketch, label follicles of the thyroid tissue, and indicate parathyroid tissue. Q2: What is the major endocrine cell here, in the parathyroid? Q3: What hormone do these cells secrete and what is the function of this hormone?
