Commonly children do not get the space to know themselves, Because the adults are playing authoritative role in children’s life. So, they are not getting chances to understand who really they are. Due to all these, children are facing dilemmas and pressure in their lives. But today child-centred social work practice is getting more recognition because people started to understand the importance of children’s role in shaping their own lives.

Child-centered social work practices include working together with children to help them understand themselves. Here the practitioner work as a facilitator with children rather than giving advice and guidelines to them. The three major ideas used in child-centred social work practice are Provision, protection and participation. Provision and protection meant working for children and participation refers to including and working with children.

Through this method children can express their thoughts freely. So, this method will help the children to understand and fix the issues concerning them effectively. Like this, it helps to enhance the mental development of children and also makes them feel valued.
