Answer #1

for a = 2.21

2.21 / 2 - 0.1 = 1.005

for b = 1.50

1.50 / 2 + 0.1 = 0.75 + 1

= 0.85

the distance between center of mass is = \sqrt{} 1.0052 + 0.852

= \sqrt{}1.316

= 1.147 m

half of the distance is = 1.147 / 2

= 0.573

now the angle between is tan-1 ( 0.85 / 1.005 )

= 40.190
Part a )

horizontal distance of center of mass is = cos(40.19) X 0.573

= 0.4377

now the X - distance is

= 2.21 / 2 + 0.4377

= 1.105 + 0.4377

= 1.5427 m

Part b )

vertical distance of center of mass is

= sin40.19 X 0.573

= 0.3697

Y = distance is

= 1.50 / 2 - 0.3697 + 0.2

= 0.75 - 0.3697 + 0.2

= 0.5803 m
