Answer #1

Answer:

\mu = 125,  \sigma = 24, x = 160

Here we want to find P(x > 160)

Formula is

Z= o

160-125 24

Z = 1.4583333

Z = 1.46

P(x > 160) = 1 - P(z < 1.46)

find P(z < 1.46) using normal z table.

we get, P(z < 1.46)= 0.92785

P(x > 160) = 1 - 0.92785

P(x > 160) = 0.07215

P(x > 160) = 0.0722

probability that a randomly selected sixth grader reads more than

160 words per minute = 0.0722
