The air bubbles in the buret occupy some volume that has to be occupied by the liquid therefore observed liquid volume is less because small amount of volume is occupy bubble.

The problem can be eliminated by:

1) renise the test tube with inert solvent or the with solvent that is to be used in experiment before experiment is performed.

2)wash the buret with distilled water or normal water before used.
