Ans 1 : d) 6 ATP

Conversion of pyruvate to glucose is not a simple reversal of glycosis.

To begin with , pyruvate is first converted into oxalo acetic acid (OAA) using 1 ATP. OAA is converted into malate and then back into OAA and then PEP. This utilises one GTP (equivalent to ATO) molecule.

PEP converts into 2PG and then 2PG into 3PG. 3PG uses 1 ATP again to form G3P. It is then followed by the formation of F-1,6-BP and F6P , G6P and then finally glucose.

So per pyruvate molecule 3 equivalents of ATP are used , and for each glucose molecule 2 pyruvate molecules are used , so the total ATP required = 2 x 3 = 6 ATP.
