Polymerization of Nylon 6,6
Explain how the two different termination steps, combination/coupling and disproportionation, affect the molecular weight of polystyrene.
Nylon 6.6 is manufactured by solution polymerization by condensing hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid in toluene solvent at higher temperature in an inert atmosphere.

The propagation step is terminated when two radicals combine together to form a neutral species, known as coupling or combination or disproportionation, in which hydrogen transfer results in the formation of two molecules: one saturated and one unsaturated end group .

i) Which of the following is not true about step-growth polymers? Formation of step-growth polymers usually results in the loss of a small molecule. Step-growth polymers are formed by the reaction of bifunctional molecules. Step-growth polymers can be formed by a free radical mechanism. Step-growth polymers are also known as condensation polymers. Step-growth polymers do not reach high molecular weight until the reaction has gone nearly to completion. ii) Which of the following are not termination methods in radical polymerization?...

Q7. 3/3/3 points (a) What are addition polymerization steps? (b) What type of polymerization does the below reaction present? (c) Calculate the degree of polymerization if 6,6-nylon has a molecular weight of 120,000 g/mol, two repeating unit of Nylon6,6 shown in (b). Q8. 4 points...
This is a dry lab assessment for synthesis of Nylon 6,6. I believe I understand how to calculate the limiting reagent (Q1) and have determined it to be adipic acid. I’m stuck on calculating the theoretical yield (Q2) and need some help getting through the bullet points of the procedure used to answer the question. Thanks! 1. In the experiment, you are instructed to use 0.500 g of adipic acid and 0.40 g of hexamethylenediamine. Calculate the mmol of each...

Your colleague has synthesized two different polymers from the same mer unit, sample A and B. Sample A demonstrates greater strength, lower ductility, and higher softening temperature compared to sample B. Based on this information, compare the following possibilities between the two samples: Degree of branching Degree of crosslinking Number-average molecular weight Degree of polymerization Size of mer side chain Sample A is > Sample B in which of of these aspects? Please also explain why

1. Explain how different amounts of current assets and current liabilities affect firms’ profitability. 2. Discuss how the cash conversion cycle is determined, how the cash budget is constructed, and how each is used in working capital management. 3. Explain how companies decide on the proper amount of each current asset—cash, marketable securities, accounts receivable, and inventory.
