Two children are riding on a merry- go- round. Child A is at a greater distance from the axis of rotation than child B. Which child has the larger angular speed?

		Child A
		Child B
		They have the same zero angular speed.
		They have the same non-zero angular speed.
		There is not enough information given to answer the question.

Let child A is 'R' and child B is 'r' away from the center, such that R>r Distance traveled by A in one revolution = 27R Distance traveled by B in one revolution = 2ar Let T be the time period of rotation distance 27 R Linear speed of A, VA = time T distance 2 Linear speed of B VB=; time T 27 By definition, w = 7 is the angular speed, which is same for both the children. Because they both cover equal angle in unit time (equal intervals of time). But linear velocity of A is larger than that of B. So the correct answer is that they both have same non-zero angular speed.

Note: I have mentioned linear speed, just to make it clear.
