Descriptive statistics

1. Here we can see that there is a grade of 740 on a scale of 0-100. So it is an outlier.

Since we don't have any option of estimating the actual value of the outlier point, we have to ignore it i.e. remove it from the data set.

2. We get the stem plot as:

3. From the given data we can get that:

Mean= 80.11; median= 78 & mode= 75.

Thus here mean > median > mode.

So the distribution is positively skewed.

4. The interpretation is:

In math she scored higher that 80% of the students and in reading she scored higher than 76% of the students in the class.
