B. water molecules form hydrogen bonds amongst themselves. Thus, when heating water some amount of heat energy is required to break the hydrogen bonds.

Thus water has a high specific heat capacity. ie.e the amount of heat required to rise the temperature of 1gm of the substance by 1degree
