Answer #1

a/ The class of the IP address 130.124.0.0 is class 'B' because the first byte is 130 and it is between 128 and 191.

b/ The number of borrowed host bits to create 8 subnets is: 3, because :

8 = 2^3 , so we'll have : 000 , 001 , 010, 011, 100, 101, 110, 111 to present the 8th subnets

c/ As the IP address is class 'B', the subnet mask is: 255.255.0.0

d/ The number of usable hosts per subnet is: 2^(16-3) - 2 = 2^13 - 2 = 8190 hosts per subnet

e/

Subnet1 ---------> NA = 130.124.0.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.31.255

Subnet2 ---------> NA = 130.124.32.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.63.255

Subnet3 ---------> NA = 130.124.64.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.95.255

Subnet4 ---------> NA = 130.124.96.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.127.255

Subnet5 ---------> NA = 130.124.128.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.159.255

Subnet6 ---------> NA = 130.124.160.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.191.255

Subnet7 ---------> NA = 130.124.192.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.223.255

Subnet8 ---------> NA = 130.124.224.0 --------------------->BA = 130.124.255.255
