Scenario

I am invited to interview for your dream job – conservation biologist at one of the most reputable and influential NGOs. I will be making decisions on how to spend money for protecting biodiversity. I have very strong opinions as to why funding should be spent on either preserving biodiversity in hotspots or in coldspots. I know that I will have to be articulate and convincing presenting your point of view to the interviewer if I have to have a chance of getting your dream job. The interviewer asks me to present how I would spend the agencies’ money, funding coldspot or hotspot conservation projects?

Hotspots facing high vulnerability and it is important to give high priority for it's conservation . While, the coldspots are low threatened. Lot of effort is needed to conserve the hotspots. To conserve them, it is essential to reduce consumption and restore biodiversity. So, to protect hotspots lot of money is needed than that of coldspot conservation. Reducing the use of chemical fertilizers, reducing water wastage, promoting pollinators etc. will improve richness of biodiversity. However, money will spend for the conservation of biodiversity in all levels as possible.
