Best indicator to use in titaration of weak acid with strong base is phenolphthalein because it changes colour in PH range between 8.3 - 10

For a weak acid and strong base you would expect solution of PH at equivalence point to be more then 7 (due to formation of basic salt) so you would pick an indicator that changes colour at more than 7.0 such as Phenolphthalein. in basic medium it turns colourless to pink in basic medium

Phenolphthalein self is a weak organic acid and it's unionised form is colourless. in basic medium it will be change into its anioni form (conjugate base) and turns the solution pink
