DBT stands for Ductile to Brittle Transition.This represents the transition tenperature at which a material loses it's ductility and starts to behave as a brittle material.Ductile-Brittle transition testing is done on various materials to analyse the behaviour of metals under different temperature conditions

There are two types of impact testing,the Charpy and Izod impact tests

In a DBT curve the Impact energy(J) is usually plotted against the Temperature(degree celcius)

An example of DBT curve is given below:
