• home (e.g., saving money, budgeting, tracking expenses, keeping up with maintenance or projects);
• work (e.g., creating graphs or charts for presentations); and
• school (e.g., tracking classes, time management).

While the examples given may be used in your description, be specific about how you personally can benefit from using Excel in these areas. Use of excel is not limited to accountancy, it is helpful in tracking expenses at home daily or for budgeting any renovation, like painting the house. Displayed below are two simple excel formats:
1. for tracking monthly income and expenses, the excel format as shown in the below picture can be used. The pie-chart shows the share of each individual item in the total amount., For e.g. Salary if the main component under income while the major expense is house rent.

Excel can also be used for e.g. in office for a sales presentation to compare the actual and projected sales in different streams - refer to the picture attached below. Excel also helps identify winning income streams In this example the training sessions which performed better than projected sales. This stream holds scope for better revenues. Also excel helps identify pain areas - in this case product 2. Though it got $4000 in repairs, but this product can cause decline in sales in future due to high repair costs involved. Similarly, Product 3 is the main source of income with less repair costs involved. The company can focus more on sales for Product 3 by projecting its advantages and success stories.
