Answer #1

I am going to explain this through free radical mechanism.
There will be 2 free radicals formed.

1st free radical is formed when hydrogen is removed from ring. In this case Carbon from which Hydrogen is removed becomes SP hybridised. This carbon is free radical

2nd free radical is formed when hydrogen is removed from propylic carbon. In this case Carbon from which Hydrogen is removed becomes SP2 hybridised. This carbon is free radical

Sp2 hybridised free radical carbon is more stable than SP hybridised free radical carbon.

So homobenzylic one is more reactive than bezylic one.

--------------------
Comparing with other secondary Hydrogen, homobenzylic one is less reactive due to presence of ring.
Ring causes -I effect and makes homobenzylic free radical carbon less stable

Inductive effect is originated by the ring

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
