Question

A small motor driven paint compressor set of mass 27 kg sits on rigid, massless platform that is supported by 4 spring-damper isolators (each isolator is composed of a spring and damper) for which cach spring constant is 13245 N/m. When the motor runs, it runs at a constant speed of 1750 rpm. The compressor piston has a 50 mm stroke (double its eccentricity). The piston and reciprocating parts have a mass of 0.5 kg, and the motion of the piston-reciprocating parts is considered harmonic. Each isolators damper when tested shows a decrease in displacement from 3.415 ㎝ to 0202 an in 4 cycles. Problem la. Determine the amplitude of vertical motion of the motor at the operating speed Problem 1h. What is the amplitude of vertical motion when the operating speed becomes very large Problem lc. What is the damping ratio for each isolator? What is the damping ratio for the system? What is the damping constant for each isolator? Problem ld. What is the Force transmitted to the support as a function of time-F) Determine all the quantities in Frans (t)equation, eg, Fms, Ψ and β Problem le. What is the maximum Force transmitted to the support at resonance? Note: dampers in parallel follow the same formula as springs in parallel

    2. [24%] A M 10kg motor running at the speed of 300 rpmwas found to produce excess vibration due to rotation unbalance (see right figure). The unbalance was estimated moe 0.2 kg. m. The situation is to be rectified using vibration isolator as the excess vibration exceeds the allowable force transmission to the ground F100 N. In the analysis, the isolator is modeled using a spring (k) and damper element (e). Answer the following questions. (a) [4] Assume zero damping...

#5 is only I need in which we need to plot it on Matlab and I don't know how to plot it. Project 1 A Vibration Insulation Problem Passive isolation systems are sometimes used to insulate delicate equipment from unwanted vibrations. For example, in order to insulate electrical monitoring equipment from vibrations present in the floor of an industrial plant, the equipment may be placed on a platform supported by flexible mountings resting on the floor. A simple physical model...
