Yes, I agree with the expanded definition of family under FMLA. Earlier the narrow definition of the family did not cover all families. Workers only had the right to take leave to take care of only seriously ill loved ones such as their spouse, parent or child. This narrow definition did not allow them to take care of siblings or extended family members like grandparents, grandchild or uncle. Luckily, many states have now allowed the workers to take leave to take care of a broader range of family members like siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, and others. Therefore, I agree with the extended definition of family under FMLA as it is more beneficial for the society in their grave needs.
