Answer #1

If you are teaching same content of algebra for about 7 to 11 years you will get bored and after that you will not be able to teach student properly because sometimes you will feel a concept too much trivial but understanding same concept will be hard for student. What else can you do you can use your experience to make thing easier for students .Keep it with strong with examples if you can.You might want to force them to practice doing more "rote" exercises that often come in an intro abstract algebra book to help gather examples.the First thing students genrally ask why it this algebra required at all what is its importance ,I don't visualise its application in any other subjects you have to tackle all those thing also and make the subject interesting for students.

You can apply your knowledge by making the course easier for students by creating more and more easy examples that they can understand also you can indulge students by giving some challenging problem as a project .This might create interest among students .

I think doing research is not going to help you in teaching additional practises can be beneficials like picking up of problems from different authors book will be helpful in teaching .Student will feel subject challenging and that will help them in learning
