Ca + 2 H2O - - - - > Ca(OH)2 + H2

Calcium in the aqueous solution of sodium chloride reacts with water molecules to form calcium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. the bubbles form due to formation of hydrogen gas.

this solution is basic in nature due to presence of calcium hydroxide which is a strong base. so it turns litmus blue.

it has nothing to do with the displacement of sodium in NaCl. calcium cannot displace sodium because calcium is less reactive than sodium.
