Neutralisation is the reaction between an acid and base to form salt and water.

Titration is a laboratory technique in which concentration of a unknown solution is determined using concentration of a known soltion.

In a titration the analyte whose concentration is known is called titrant. Analyte whose concentration is unknown is called titrate.

The volume of NaOH and concentration is given . which is a fixed volume.so it will be pipetted to a conical flask.

Volume of HCl is unknown .so it will take in the burette.

a) NaOH should be in the pipette and is called titrant.

HCl should be in the burette and is called titrate.

NaOH is neutralised by HCl.

Because HCl is added to NaOH .

Phenolphtalein will be added to the analyte to turn pink in to colourless at the end point. It is used to find endpoint with colour change in tiration.

Phenolphtalein is a Indicator.Indicators show sharp colour change with pH.

In acid phenolphthalein is colourless and in base it shows pink colour. indicator is added to the beaker along with base to find out end point.

End point of a reacion ,at which all acid will be completely react with base.

b) equation :HCl + NaOH  \rightarrow NaCl + H2O

Neutralisation is the reaction between an acid and base to form salt and water.

Since NaCl and water are the products ,by evaporation of the products we will get clear NaCl.

NaCl + H2O \rightarrow Na+ + Cl-
