Question
can anyone please confirm my answers for 5&6? And can you explain how to fill in the electrons for 7? Please and Thank you.

Answer #1

5.

i) in a is [Fe (or),] and b is [Fe(CN)13- the ligands are oxilate and cyanide. In these two cyanide is strong field ligand so crystalfeild splitting enegry is more in octahedral comples in case of strong field ligand so b has more energy then a.

ii) in b [Fe(CN)13- and c is  [Fe(CN):14 in these both, number of unpaired electrons are more in b than c so CFSE is more in b than c. So b is more than c due to more unpaired electrons.

6.

a) in [Fe (H2013- iron has oxidation state is Fe^{^{+3}} so valace configuration is 3Ꮞs   number of unpaired electrons are 5. here the ligand is weak field ligand so the crystal feild splitting diagram is attached here & Energy diagram for fe is eg ORSE cg+trg tig ý 3 Crystal field stabilization energy NDODCCCCCCCCCCFFFFEEEEEEETTI- CESE = -0.

TO [V CH420),7 * Oxidation State of vy = y +3. Electronic configuration for 1+3 = 32 uso neg egtig Toto 1 tzg

Thank you, it includes many questions if anyone question wrong don't give overall feedback. Kindly give your feedback.
