Answer #1

The HABER'S PROCESS is used in synthesis ammonia(NH3).

Reaction mechanism:-

Nitogen from air combines with Hydrogen in 1:3 ratio by volume to yield Ammonia. It is a reversible and exothermic process, here low temperature and high pressure favours the yield the production of ammonia .

  • N2  (g) + 3H2(g) < ------------------>  2NH3(g)
  • reaction condition-
  • temperature- 400oc to 450oc
  • pressure- 200atm
  • enthalpy change= -92.4kJ/mol.
  • catalyst used -- Iron(Fe) with a promoter molybdenum(Mo).
