Answer to Part-B: The melting point of benzocaine is 88–90 °C. And experimental observation is 75-80 °C. The product was not pure. Because if the product was pure, it melts sharply at 88–90 °C. 10 °C difference is too big in terms of purity.  

Answer to Part-C: In the laboratory, anhydrous sodium sulfate is widely used as an inert drying agent, for removing traces of water from organic solutions. It is more efficient but slower-acting than the similar agent magnesium sulfate.
