Comparing lakes located near the equator to lakes in Canada, where would we expect more negative δ18O values? Does the latitude affect the δ18O values? Please explain why.

The area between the Arctic circle, which is 66 degrees 33 minutes north latitude,and the north pole,sitting at 90 degree north is the high latitude of northern hemisphere. Canada is within Arctic circle. So we expect more negative values near the lakes in Canada because general trend is that the δ180 values are more negative at higher latitude regions. So the atmosphere above the Antarctica and Arctic regions is observed to be highly D-depleted.
