The major product of the reaction is

2-ethyl-3-hydroxy-hexanal, This is an aldol product as it has an aldehyde and an alcohol group.

The given reaction is a very common self aldol condesation reaction between two molecules of 1-butanal.

The product along with the mechanism is given in the uploaded image.
