If I am doing a RICE table and the concentrations of the compounds are given at equilibrium, will it ALWAYS follow the coefficients from the chemical equation?
This is a conceptual question. It does not have an actual table.
Yes, it have to always follow the coeficients from BALANCED CHEMICAL EQUATION.
Reason.
Chemical reaction always follows STOICHIOMETRY.
we will illustrate this by taking an general example
let us take
Where,
A is reactant
C and D are products
1,2,3 are stichiometric coefficients of A,C and D respectively
let us assume the above equation is balanced
Equation indicate that one mole of A on reaction gives 2 moles of C and 3 moles of D.
Remember in reaction moles may or may not be conserved but mass is always conserved (means total mass of reatants is equal to the total mass products)
Hence while making ICE table we have to t consideration of coefficients
ICE is a simple acronym for the titles of the first column of the table.
Initial concentration: C 0 0
Concentration at
equilibrium : C(1- ) 2C 3C
Where ,
C is molar concentration
= degree of dissociation = (number of moles dissociated)/(Total number of moles taken)
We can also define as fraction of molecules dissociated.
we have to consider the coefficients

what am i doing wrong here?? I used quad formula and got .065 but I have no idea what i am doing wrong! I am doing a lab on the determination of the equilibrium constant for the formation of Fe(SCN)+2. We used a spectrometer to measure the absorption of solutions with a varying initial concentration of Fe+3, but constant concentrations of SCN-. The reaction equation of Fe+3 + SCN- —> Fe(SCN)+2. Along with the SCN- and Fe+3 stock solutions, we also combined them with .3 M HNO3. We then calculated an average molar absorptivity and the equilibrium concentration of Fe(SCN)+2. From that concentration...

I am doing an experiment on the kinetics bromide bromate reaction. is it possible that my order of reaction does not correspond to the mole ratio of the reactant in the stoichiometric equation?
Hello, I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Could someone please explain :) Thank you! The mineral dolomite contains magnesium carbonate. This reacts with hydrochloric acid. n Review | Constants | Periodic Table Part A At equilibrium, the concentrations of reactants and products can be predicted using the equilibrium constant, Kc, which is a mathematical expression based on the chemical equation. For example, in the reaction A mixture initially contains A, B, and C in the following concentrations: [A] = 0.450 M, [B] = 0.650 M, and [C] = 0.700 M. The following reaction occurs and equilibrium is established: aA + bB = CC + dD...

Hi! I am doing a chemistry lab and I am lost on where to start. Below are the equations of interest in this laboratory exercise. As you know from reading the laboratory handout, your goal is to determine the enthalpy change for reaction 1 1. (1) Mg(s) + 1/2O2(g) → MgO(s) ∆H1=∆Hf(MgO) = ? (2) Mg(s) + 2H+(aq) → Mg2+(aq) + H2(g) ∆H2 (measured) (3) MgO(s) + 2H+(aq) → Mg2+(aq) + H2O(I) ∆H3 (measured) (4) 1/2O2(g) + H2(g) → H2O(l)...
I am building an optimal binary search tree. I have its root table and main table, and i am trying to construct the binary tree from the root table. I do not know how, can you please build a program that does so? for more info, my array is 600 strings, and the frequencies are randomly chosen. Thank You! In C Please!
