d) it occurs a pH greater than 7 because a basic salt is formed.
An acid is a molecule which can donate protons (H+) and a base who accepts the protons (H+) or in other words, gives OH- ions in an aqueous solution.
The titration of a weak acid and a strong base :
In this titration, protons (H+) from the weak acid transfer directly to the hydroxide ions of strong base.
Let's take an example of weak acid and strong base :
Weak acid: acetic acid (C2H4O2)
Strong base: NaOH ( sodium hydroxide).
C2H4O2(aq)+OH-(aq)= C2H3O2-(aq)+H2O
OH- ions from the NaOH solution.
At equivalence point of titration, pH will be greater than 7 because all the acid(C2H4O2) is converted to it's conjugate base (C2H3O2-) by the addition of OH- ions from NaOH solution and so the solution formed is a basic solution.

To learn about titration types and how to calculate pH at different points of titration. In an acid-base titration, a titrant (solution of a base or acid) is added slowly to an analyte (solution of an acid or base). The titration is often monitored using a pH meter. A plot of pH as a function of the volume of titrant added is called a pH titration curve. Prior to the titration, the pH is determined by the concentration of the...
