There are two factors which can affect on the size of IR spectrum peak

1) Polarity of the molecule. The more polar a molecule is, the stronger the peak is.

2) Many of the same functional group. repetition of the same functional group leads to a larger and intense peak.

these factors will help you for the interpretation of your observation. If peak width increases it would probably be some interaction there in the molecule

IR peaks can be lenthen or shorten by choosing the concentration of sample in KBr pellet. Minimum amount of sample leads to shorten peaks.
