Since CaCl2.H2O is an hydrated form of calcium chloride in which water molecules are in surrounding and making an attraction with calcium chloride.

When we supply energy in the form of heat , actually we are breaking the interaction between water molecules and Calcium chloride which actually results in decomposition of hydrated form of calcium chloride to anhydrous calcium chloride.

Hence is an decomposition reaction.

Its not an acid its a salt hence is not acid base reaction

No combination is happening here in the reaction.
