The answer for this question can be answered if we study the flame profile first

The temperature of the flame is not the same all the length of the flame

The absorbance that we get in this experiment is due to the excited atoms that ionise in the flame

It changes as we down or up the flame

So when a sample is analysed at different flame heights the amount of temperature it gets is different and hence the amount of excited ions which further shows absorbance also changes

And thats the reason the absorbance changes at different heights of the flame
