The wild type grows in the presence of all additives beacuse it can synthesize C de Novo.

Mutant 1 is not able to grow in the presence of any additive except C , indicating that it's mutation affect the step just before the end of pathway at C. In other words , each if the other additive occur in synthesis pathway before the point of mutation in mutant 1.

Mutant 2 is able to grow in the presence of any additive except B. It indicates that B is involved in the begining of the pathway and mutation affects the pathway just after that step.

Mutant 3 is able to grow in the presence of D , E and C indicating that it's mutation affects the step before D .

Mutant 4 is able to grow in the presence of E and C it means it affects the step before the synthesis of E.
