22. Ans;- b) all are facultative anaerobes and are usually pathogenic.

Comment;- They are not usually pathogenic. No archaeal pathogens have been identified.

The cell wall of Archaebacteria is unique and consists of polysachharide and proteins. They are omnipresent (present everywhere). The archaebacteria are strict anaerobes which produce methane from carbon dioxide or formic acid. They are found in marshy places. They live in extreme condition. In the presence of strong sunlight they develope a purple coloured pigmented membrane to utilize light energy producing ATP.

Archea are closely related to us than other bacterias. This refrain from causing infectious disease
