Answer #1

Given that distance between the gene is 7 map unit. It means that the maximum proportion of recombinants will be 0.07 or 7%.

Out of 0.07 proportion, half will be one type of recombinants and half will be another type of recombinant.

Since allele D and Op are present on the same chromosome and allele d and op are present on the same chromosome. So they will remain together in the next generation.

Cross-over during the gamete formation results in a new combination of alleles. In some of the gamete, D allele will present with op and d allele will present with Op as shown in the cross. 0.035 proportion of gametes has D and op allele and 0.035 proportion of gamete will have d and Op alleles on the same chromosomes.

Tall and green leaves D. Op dop Crossed with d d op op Short and opaque leaves Proportion D d Gametes op d op 0.465 op 0.465
