Answer- a. A higher substrate concentration makes the initial velocity (v0) faster
Explanation-
1. Jinju carried out enzyme assay of enzyme T where she added 1ml of enzyme to 4ml of substrate of two different concentrations (200M and 220M) in separate test sets and allowed to proceed reaction from 30sec to 300sec at the interval of 30sec.
2. After the reactions at specific time interval of incubation she got result that indicates that increasing substrate concentration makes initial velocity faster by observing optical density.
3. When 1ml of 200M substrate is incubated with enzyme for 30sec the optical density is 0.582 and for 220M substrate concentration the optical density is 0.613. This indicates that at high substrate concentration optical density increases that indicates product formation.
4. All time interval of 30sec shows that optical density for 200M is lower than 220M substrate concentration. All this results shows that at higher substrate concentration initial velocity of reaction increases that leads to increased product formation that is observed by taking OD at 410nm.
