Name one place on this Earth where you might find ONE species of bacterium that can be categorized to all of the 5 groups:photoautotroph, acidophile, mesophile, halophile, facultative anaerobe). Note again, this is one type of bacteria, not 5 different types. This place can be a huge piece of land/water or the outer space, but it can also be the body/tissue of a living organism. Please note that this bacterium may not actually exist. Use your imagination.  Explain why this place can allow it to thrive by providing some numbers regarding its temperature, pH, oxygen level, salt level, etc

Answer #1
Place Bacteria Comment
Photoautotroph garden with bright sunlight Oscillatoria, Nostoc this bacteria can survive in the presence of Sunlight because it uses sunlight and pigment present in it to synthesise Sugars for itself by undergoing the process of photosynthesis these organisms lives in normal temperature of around 30 to 35 degree Celsius and a pH of around 5 to 7
Acidophile deep sea thermal vent Acidobacterium this bacterium is able to survive in acidic condition where the pH is less than 7 because they have certain adaptation in their plasma membrane and specific proteins are present which help them in the survival under such extreme conditions
Mesophile human gut E coli this bacterial live under normal condition of a round 37 degree Celsius and a pH of around 5
Halophile dead sea Halococcus this Bacteria is able to tolerate high salt concentration, even more than 0.9% NaCl
Facultative anaerobe marshy area E coli these organisms can live in marshy area because they can show anaerobic respiration in the absence or deficiency of oxygen

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
