The main important properties of Enzymes:

  1. Enzymes are having catalytic properties and are commonly known as ' Biocatalysts'. The speed up the rate of the reaction but they will not take part in the Biochemical reaction.
  2. Enzymes are mostly Proteins chemically and are having a complex structural organization.
  3. Active sites are the special sites present on the Enzymes and these are the catalytic sites.
  4. Enzymes show specificity in their action. Each biochemical reaction is catalyzed by a specific enzyme only.
