So there is a very certain possibility that they might have got contamination from the macaques.At this point the monkeys immediately must be screened properly to confirmed if they are infected or noy. And they must be place in isolation.

Using non human primates in any biomediacl research has very much restriction in many countery jurisdriction.Though some countries have passed some laws which permits the researches to use them but not in all types of biomedical research.According to Nuffield Council on Bioethics, the non human primates can only be used in lethal pandemic cases only.So I think the use of wild type monkeys in research has very much ethical issues.
