The cause of a disease is due to the lack of abundance of protein(s) but genomic and transcriptomic analysis does not predict something obvious. What other NGS(Next Generation sequencing) method could help to investigate this issue? Explain your answer and give an outline of your best choice experiment.

Answer #1

C) riboseq

Ribosequencing will be most useful when studying proteins which are lacking in a disease condition. In ribosequencing the mRNA-ribonucleoprotein complexes formed by translating ribosomes are isolated and subjected to nuclease digestion. The mRNA sequence that is attached to the ribosome is intact and it will be sequenced while the remaining mRNA will be digested. mRNA sequnece that codes for protein can be studied using this technique
