During fertilisation mitochondria is present is both egg and tail of the sperm but during fertilisation tail of sperm along with mitochondria sheds off. So the future baby get its mitochondria only from the mother. So if that mitochondria is defeated then baby will receive many genetic disorders.

To avoid such circumstances three parents baby techniques came to existence where mitochondria will be taken from a third party.

Benefits of three parent baby are:-

1 It will give families affected by serious mitochondrial disease to have a healthy child.

2 by mitochondria transfer various physiological functions will be corrected in the baby as mitochondria provides energy (ATP) for various physiological activities.
