can someone explain what my teacher means by ribosome is a ribozyme and whats the proof?

Ribozymes are enzymes which are made up of RNA.

Ribosome is a ribozyme meaning that ribosome is having catalytic activity because of the presence of RNA in it. Ribosome is made up of RNA and protein.

The proof of the enzymatic activity of ribosome is its ability to catalyse the formation of peptide Bond during translation in between adjacent amino acids. Peptide bond is a type of covalent bond. This is in accordance to the RNA world hypothesis in which we say that the world originated due to the catalysing ability of RNA. And this enzymatic activity is found in ribosomes.
