Answer #1

Ans: It is given that expected RNA content in a single fibroblast cell is approx. 26pg. By unitary method we can say that maximum yield of RNA from 106 cells will be equal to 26*10-12*106 gram (as 1 picogram is equal to 10-12 gram). This is equal to 26*10-6 gram or 26 microgram.

    7. The DNA (or RNA) sample loading buffer contains Tris, acetate and EDTA and has a pH of 8.0. In addition, the loading buffer also contains 5% glycerol and bromophenol blue. Tris and acetate are buffer to control the solution pH at 8.0, EDTA is a DNase inhibitor which prevents DNA from digesting by DNase. So, what are the purposes of having 5% glycerol and bromophenol blue in the sample loading buffer?
