From the image provided above, we can conclude that it is the life cycle of ferns.
In the life cycle of ferns, two main stages are present. One is the gametophytic stage and the sporophytic stage. The gametophytic stage(1) consisting of a thalloid body is the result of the germination of a spore released from the sporophyte. The gametophyte contains male sex organ known as antheridia (which releases the sperm) and the archegonium which contains the egg. When the sperm and egg fuse the fertilization(2) occurs and zygote(3) which is 2n is formed. From the zygote, the sporophyte(4) is formed. The sporophyte contains sporangia which releases spores(5) (which are the product of meiosis and hence they are haploid). The spores later give rise to the gametophyte which is haploid. This is how the life cycle of ferns occurs.
