Studying a single cell yeast, you notice that during mitosis some cells have 5 groups of chromosomes on the metaphase plate and others have 10 groups. What's going on?

Cells having 5 groups of cells at metaphasic plate are purely at metaphase stage of mitosis with spindle fibres attached to the kinetochores with sister chromatids attached to their respective centromeres, while, in the cells having 10 group of cells the possible explanation could be the transition stage of the cell which is entering anaphase of the mitosis from metaphase. In this transition stage the sister chromatids are pulled and separated from their attachment site of centromeres due to which double number of chromosomes are seen.
