Question

PRE-LAB If you were to plot temperature (C) vs. time (minutes) for the following scenario, what would the general profile look like? What important information can be gleaned from your plot? 1) Solute blue is dissolved in a beaker of water at room temperature. 2) Room temperature is 22°C 3) 4) Solute blue takes about 3 minutes to dissolve. Upon dissolving the beaker warms up...to about 27°C. 5) The beaker containing the solution is then placed in ice and cooled for 10 minutes, at which point you notice that the temperature is -4°C and remains at that temperature for several more minutes. Make a rough sketch/plot of the data reflected in points 1-5 above. This has been started for you as reflected in the template plot to the right. Make this plot in your lab notebook. This must be completed before you arrive to lab. Time There are two important portions of your plot to recognize and identify: 1) 2) Place an X on the portion of the plot that reflects the heat required/released upon the solute dissolving. Use an arrow to indicate the place on the plot that reflects a permanent property (temperature) change.please complete everything :)

Principles of Inorganic Chemistry! Week 5 Effect of Temperature on Solubility of a Salt In this experiment, you will study the effect of changing temperature on the amount of solute that will dissolve in a given amount of water. Water solubility is an important physical property in chemistry, and is often expressed as the mass of solute that dissolves in 100 g of water at a certain temperature. In this experiment, you will completely dissolve different quantities of potassium nitrate,...

Please give detailed answers to the pre and post lab questions. Thank you! NUCLEOPHILIC DISPLACEMENT- FORMATION OF AN ETHER BY AN SN2 REACTION Bond formation by use of an SN2 reaction is very important for organic and biological synthesis. Many new bonds formed make use of this versatile reaction pathway. In this reaction, one partner is the nucleophile and the other partner is the electrophile. The electrophile will have a leaving group that will be lost in the reaction. In...

please answer all parts I am trying to check my answers. Recrystallization of Acetanilide Recrystallization is an important method used by chemists to purify solid compounds. When a chemist conducts a chemical reaction as shown in Scheme 1, it will rarely go to 100% completion, and will frequently produce byproducts. These byproducts and some of the unreacted starting materials will be present in the end as impurities. Chemists need ways to remove these unwanted impurities so they can isolate their...

Pre-Lab Assignment 1) Draw the reaction mechanism for the reaction. 2) Determine the limiting reagent. Procedure 1 Place approximately 1 g of stilbene dibromide prepared in last week's experiment in a 50 mL round bottom flask. Record the exact mass. Add 0.8 g of KOH and 4 mL of triethylene glycol from the syringe provided in the fume hood (rinse any crystals from the sides of the flask while adding triethylene glycol). 2 Heat the stirred reaction mixture to a...

Preparation and Recrystallization of a Diastereomeric Salt - Synthesis of (R,R)-1,2-Diammoniumcyclohexane mono-(+)-tartrate: In a 150 ml beaker, L-(+)-Tartaric acid (7.5 g, 0.05 mol) is dissolved in 25 mL of distilled water. The solution is stirred as 11.4 g (12.2 mL, 0.10 mol) of 1,2-diaminocyclohexane is added carefully in one portion. (The addition of the diamine is exothermic.) A slurry is formed initially but complete dissolution is observed once addition...
