We have the ohms law, V = IR

Where V is the voltage =27.0v

I is the current = ? V

R is the resistance of the resistor = 4.5*103 Ohm

So subtituting the values,

27= I * 4.5*10³

I = 27/ (4.5*10³) = 6*10-3 Ampere

So the current flowing through the resistor =

6*10-3 A

b. We have the equation of power dissipation by a resistor , P= I²R = (6*10-³)²* 4.5*10³

P= 0.162 Watts

So the power dessipated = 0.162 W
