Question

Envelope 10a. Briefly state why loudspeakers for high frequencies (treble) are small, whereas for low frequencies (bass) are large. b. If an input signal into an amplifier is amplified too much (i.e., saturated), its amplitudes will be clipped, as shown below. This will lead to what is referred to as harmonic distortion. Amplifier Briefly explain why this causes a distortion in the output signal and the nature of this distortion.

Answer #1

Even with the correct biasing voltage level it is possible for the electric signals to be distorted due to large input signal being amplified by the output signal gain. the output signal become clipped in both positive and negative parts of the waveform. this type of amplitude distortion is called clipping and is the result of "over-driving" the input of the amplifier.

when input signal become too large then clipping force the output waveform to exceed the power supply voltage with the peak + half and - half part of the waveform signal become flattened or "clipped-off" .

To avoid this the maximum of input value should be limited.

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
