The concept used is in this question is of force balance , initially i draw the free body diagram when we walk after that i deduced that frictional force or the reaction on account of our action force is responsible for us to move on the road after i solved second part and i found that the force due to the weight of the block us higher than the tension in the string which is equal to the applied force , so the block is being lowered.
