Should there be a federal notification standard that supersedes all state data breach notification
Answer)
Till now there is no central federal notification standard law or a
federal notification standard that supersedes all state data breach
notification, and this has entitled the states to pass many laws
separately in their states for the same purpose but different in
all the states. The data breach notification laws have been passed
on in the separate states as recently in the South Dakota and
Alabama in the recent picture. But the states are fearing that the
federal law which will focus on the data breach notification will
interfere with the state laws which is not entirely true. Thus it
is needed and a federal notification standard should exist that
supersedes all state data breach notification. Thus even if the
state data breach notification functions separately there should be
a federal notification standard which will govern all the state
data breach notification standards and bring them to one standard
for the whole country.
