can you guys explain to me the difference between “movement” and “net movement”.

The molecules in our body tends to move in all directions. There are different types of movements for a molecule. Even if we take the crossing of molecules through a membrane like diffusion,osmosis,passive diffusion etc.

If we talk about diffusion molecular movements takes place through a membrane. If it's active diffusion there is a driving force which carries the molecules to the required direction along the concentration gradient with the driving force. This is called the movement of the molecules.

But when some molecules move with the driving force some move in opposite direction. So the number of molecules moving in the direction of the driving force reduced by the number of molecules moving in opposite direction gives the net movement.

Net movement= molecules moving in direction of driving force - molecules moving in opposite direction.
